For New Jersey City University, IPI conducted the BDI feasibility study, wrote the business plan, recruited the manager, and assisted in obtaining financing for renovation of the facility. The goal was to help start-up businesses launch from BDI as healthy, growing and viable companies which will create jobs, improve the city’s economic presence in the New York metro area, and revitalize the immediate neighborhood. As of June 2011, BDI had launched 21 companies and currently serves 25 companies, which combined have created or retained more than 250 local jobs.
